There really isn't anything special about Jong Gook in particular. His personality is a bit plain to be frank and very stereotypical of what's to be expected from an earthbender. Stubborn? A tad bit. A hard worker? When given the right means of motivation it's tough to stop that hard headed fool. Confident? Maybe sometimes too confident for his own good. Jong Gook can be a bit brash at times, not afraid of speaking out his mind. He's almost got that kind of a country bumpkin feel, just without the dim wittiness that usually comes along with being a country boy.

Generally he likes being around the company of others, but he's not too bothered with spending time alone by himself. Jong Gook, despite being loud and obnoxious at times has a kind and warm heart. He's the type to go all in for his family, friends, and the close individuals he holds dear towards. Usually optimistic, and always lending out a helping hand (at least most of the time), Jong Gook is an okay guy, maybe a tad boring it seems. Whatever the case is, most of the time you'll see this guy walking around with a big goofy smile on his face.

Oh did I mention he loves to cook? Almost as much as he loves to eat. Hence why he always has a snack on him.

Appearance:

Jong Gook is a pretty well built guy for the most part. He's of average height and weight for a kid his age. When Jong Gook goes to work or fight, he'll sport a green headband. He has natural brown spiky hair of medium length. One can take a gaze into his deep brown eyes, and maybe stare into his goofy soul.

Jong Gook usually just wears a white tank top, and loose fitting green shorts, along with a pair of tannish sandals. He usually just walks around barefoot, but sandals make him look more 'sophisticated'. He sports a jade pendent around his neck at all times, and never takes it off. When it's cold outside, you may see him wear an emerald colored robe, one that actually make him look a bit classy and well mannered. Which is, quite frankly, very shocking.

History:

As plain as his personality goes, Jong Gook's history wasn't too exciting either, but rather normal. He didn't grow up very well off, but to a hard working farming couple in the outskirts of the Earth Kingdom. Of course, they weren't exactly dirt poor, but they certainly weren't by any means rich. They sustained themselves by doing menial day to day tasks, and off the farmland. He was an only child to two, very loving parents. His father was an earthbender, while his mother was a non bender. Things were very normal, nice and simple. Simple is always best of course.

Jong Gook had a normal childhood, growing up alongside the environment he lived in. He truly loved the outdoors and loved playing outside every single day. It was as if he had an affinity for nature or something. He'd always come back home really dirty and messy. Jong Gook loved rolling in the ground, jumping into the mud, playing around with animals. You can say he was somewhat of a Tarzan, and outdoor enthusiast. It was through his exploits playing outside that he discovered his ability to manipulate the earth itself, thus unofficially beginning his career as somewhat of an earthbender. His father was a huge idol for him, and someone he had the utmost respect and admiration for. In fact, he wanted to be just like him. His father always wore a green headband while working, thus Jong Gook would follow suit. Like father like son, they shared a very tight knit close relationship.

All was going nice and swell until Jong Gook was maybe around six or seven years old. His mother had fallen ill with a mysterious disease. Everyone assumed that it was just some normal run of the mill cold or flu of some sort, but boy, were they wrong. It just seemed as if his mother got worse and worse as time progressed, despite all the medicine and doctors that Jong Gook's father brought in to see her. There was no exact diagnosis and nothing seemed to work. Money was running low also, with all these medical expenses. About a year and a half later, his mother had passed. On her deathbed, she gave Jong Gook a family heirloom that had been passed down, which was the jade pendent that Jong Gook proudly wears around his neck and is never seen without. Tears were shed, and grief struck throughout the household. Life would eventually return to normal in due time. Time does heal all wounds, to some extent. There was just one thing that always bugged Jong Gook, and it was his inability to do anything as his mother was suffering. This feeling of helplessness was perhaps the one thing that would help shape all the days ahead of him. From that unfateful event on, he vowed to whatever he could to the best of his ability to protect the ones he loved. Which was pretty a spectacular ideal for a kid his age at the time.

Here we are, now all grown up, and somewhat a 'man' in some respect. He still continues to this day as somewhat of a 'Tarzan'. He still loves to roam around nature and come back home with a trail of dirt behind him. Oh and of course, his father from time to time would give him a lesson on earthbending. It was something that he thought would be important to show Jong Gook so that his son would be able to protect himself while traversing outside his home, considering the brash, loudmouth he has, he'd probably make a lot of unnecessary enemies. With his pendent dangling around his neck, and a green headband in his back pocket, Jong Gook's ready for what's ahead.
