"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" "Laifu get back here, please!" A plight of sorts originated from a fairly pretty young girl, who established a sense of urgency in her body language. With a push of the wind following closely behind her, Mingyu would stumble along the usually busy capital to catch up to her devious little lemur, Laifu. Not falling too far behind, were fire nation guards shouting words of sheer scorn deducing from the situation prior to the one unfurling before them. A lemur, having a terrible habit of taking items that did not belong to him would create all kinds of problems for the girl, this being just one of the many. An apple was stolen from a cart of fruits that was not paid for by a sneaky little lemur thus centering around the scenario at hand. Mingyu now hoped to catch up to Laifu before the guards could, in fear that if they did her pet would be nothing but a dish best served hot.
Shouts of anger was not too far behind and with every misstepped it would appear that they would get closer. Realizing she would need alittle more then just a boost, Mingyu quickly used her wind to increased her agility. "I'm so sorry." Her speed increased and with that Laifu came into sights. When she got close enough, Mingyu dove and shifted her weight so that her body wouldnt squish the small animal. "I caught you! A smile of satisfaction came upon her face but would soon be erased as the fire guards were just as quick as her and shadowed over her, demanding for her to surrender the monkey. Mingyu did not wish to be disobedient but Laifu was her bestfriend and she wouldnt dare to give that up. Since she did not wish to cooperate the guards were eager to react with something of their own. Mingyu feared that her the spark of a flame could severely burn her and kill Laifu instantly, but she did not wish to fight.

Now, some people would find it a little strange for a teenage boy to be walking around with swords strapped to his back and a armadillo lion walking by his side, but Lee was unfazed by this. People took the other way around to try to avoid the creature at all costs because they were not familiar with the beast. He stopped walking and watched as a lemur of some sort was causing mischief amongst the fire nation city.
The Lone Wanderer watched as the fire nation guards were trying to gain control of the situation, but they were doing a very poor job at this task. The lemur had gotten his goal of snatching a single apple from the fruit stand. A girl emerged and rustled with the lemur until she triumphed and caught it, but much to her dismay, she was still being ordered by the guards to give up the lemur.
"Hey Simba. How good is your acting?" Lee asked his traveling companion. The Armadillo Lion yawned and looked at his tamer. Lee nodded as he quickly thought of a plan. He signaled Simba to follow him over to the girl to help out.
"Great job sis! Simba's been slacking when it came to finishing off his dinner. It seems this one still had some kick in it." Lee said, as he offered the girl a hand up. Lee looked over at Simba, who was looking at the monkey while licking his lips. Lee had a feeling that Simba didn't know the difference between acting and feasting. Lee held is palm up and made a lowering motion which told Simba to sit down, which he did.
He bent down and attempted to help the girl up, but what he was really doing was alerting the girl to the plan. "Play along and I'll get you out of this with your friend." The Lone Wanderer whispered quietly in the girl's ear. He would attempt to help the girl up if she decided that she wanted his help. Hopefully, his acting was enough to fool the fire nation soldiers.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" Within an instant, an unfamiliar hand reached out to the girl, declaring her as his sister. Chestnut hues stared her down with hints of faith gathering about and a silent but clear way of saying trust me. Although Mingyu had no attachment or prior engagements with this odd but rather good looking boy, it was evident that he had wished to help her and giving her current situation it would be wise to follow along. Her left hand trembled a bit, fearful of letting go of her firm grip over her companion but she would if it meant escaping the deck that the gods dealt her. Extending her arm over to the stranger, their hands collided, solidfying whatever gap was kept between the two. He hoisted her up with such little effort being exerted and that alone was enough to astound the girl. But then again . . . it didn't take much to impress her. A simple girl with simple needs; every little thing she encountered made a known mark of admiration on her.
Catching her balance while still keeping a secure clutch on Laifu, Mingyu gently brushed against her clothing to rid off the dirt that might of tainted her clothing. Her eyes then looked over to the guards who bore looks of bewilderment. "Uh ... yes uh, I caught him for my brother's ..... lion." She gulped, feeling a nauseating eruption from the deepest part of her stomach. Just the thought of Laifu becoming someone's dinner made her extremely uncomfortable and it surely showed through her poor acting. But even so the guards - more guillible then they let on - were easily fooled by the two's story and left with only a warning to avoid another encounter. Mingyu looked over to the boy. "Your not going to really eat him .... are you?"

Lee hoisted the girl up with no effort at all. He looked over at the guards who seemed to be buying the act with the poor acting. Lee blew a sigh of relief when the guards let them off with a warning. He really didn't feel like getting charged for treason for defending a girl that he just met, but there was something about this girl that seemed special in someway. Like meeting her was something that had to happen.
"Simba's cool. He is the tamest armadillo lion you will ever meet. I think he was in the circus at one point, but now hes with me. I'm Lee by the way." Lee explained to the girl. Normally, Lee would walk away after this rescue, but something held him responsible for this girl.
Simba stood up and nuzzled against his tamer in a loving motion. Lee looked down at him and petted his lion on the head. He thought about putting him on a leash to evade trouble like the girl and her lemur had gotten into, but then he pictured himself getting dragged by Simba across the land by the leash. The idea was quickly turned down due to the fact that Lee wasn't able to hold back the force of a fully grown Lion armadillo.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" Sigh's of relief relished from her lips as she placed a hand of comfort upon Laifu's head. She softly scratched between his ears; him responding with by giving into its relaxing touch. The apple, still intact between her lemur's small finger tips would loosen as he was too consumed by Mingyu's faint massage. Using her right hand, she cautiously grabbed the forbidden fruit. "I owe you so much for your kindness." She paused momentarily, extending her arm out with the riped, red fruit sitting patiently in her palm. "I have no other way to thank you except for this. It maybe small but it has much gratitude it in, for saving me and for not eating my lemur." Her words were completed with a pleasent smile.
Laifu's entrapment soon diminished as he come to a realization of Mingyu's actions. Before the stranger known as Lee would take it, the devious lemur dove towards it but with quick thinking Mingyu used her wind to push the apple out of Laifu's reach. "I'm sorry Laifu but you do not deserve this fruit. You've been a bad little lemur today." Withdrawing the apple into her proper care, Mingyu faced towards her new companions. With her inviting morning sky hues, her eyes met with his. "Nice to meet you Lee, my name is Mingyu."

Lee knew he couldn't accept the gift for a small token of his kindness. "I'm fine. You don't have to give me anything." the Lone Wanderer said to the girl. It was then that the lemur lunged for the apple, but was quickly withdrawn by a sudden change in the wind. Lee's eyes widened as he realized what happened. His new friend was an airbender. That could have been why the guards were hassling her so much due to their prejudiced nature.
"Your an airbender? That's awesome! I haven't met an Air nomad before. I should have guessed it from the Lemur." Lee said with a nod. It was these types of moments that made Lee wonder why there was even a war being threatened. She was just like him, but with different personality.
It was at this moment where Lee contemplated revealing his firebending nature to her. She seemed trustworthy and he had just helped her get her lemur back without any consequences. It was out of his nature to reveal his firebending to anyone. much less someone he just rescued on the street. for now, he would just introduce himself as a swordsman.
He turned his back to reveal the sheathed swords that were strapped to his back. "Me. I'm more of a swordsman than anything else." Lee said, hiding his true self. Maybe in due time he would reveal his firebending self to him, but for now, he wasn't letting her on.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" "Oh? Well if you do not want it, surely your lion will." The gleam in Simba's eyes when they rested on Laifu was too convincing even for herself to believe. He wanted Laifu and not in the way he conveyed. The lemur would hide behind the young airbender's hair, sulking in her raven locks but was quite aware that his escapades could have ended her well-being and for that punished himself.
"Oh? Yes I am an airbender. I don't usually use it unless I absolutely have to or for my own enjoyment." Truth in every word spoken, Mingyu honestly did not dare to use her abilities unless provoked. Majority of the time it was used in a playful manner rather then meant for harm. The fact that someone would take the time to admire her manipulation of the element meant much more then she would let on. Her skills weren't extravagent; originating from a colony where others proved greater as far as talent goes, Mingyu was nothing exceptional.
The boy took pride in his swordmanship, carrying on about his tactical skills in combat. Eyebrows arched concluding from a mix of shock and excitement. She had never came into contact with weapon specialist, especially since her home did not believe in them. "That is incrediable. I have never met a swordsman myself! It must be difficult to be so skilled in something that takes such patience. That is admirable." She bowed gracefully, showing her respect for his occupation.

It seemed that Simba was getting lost in looking at the Laifu. It was obvious that he was hungry, but Lee couldn't take the whole apple for the lion. It would be selfish of him. The Lone Wanderer snapped is fingers in front of the lion's face so he would snap back to reality and stop staring at the lemur like it would be his next meal.
The Lone Wanderer's eyes lit up as he came up with a simple solution for this situation. He took the apple for the girl, took a step back, and threw it high into the air. He unsheathed and separated his swords and with one quick slice of both the swords, the apple was cut into four slices. He quickly caught the apple slices on one of his swords.
"One of the street performer tricks I learned from my dad." Lee said, as he held up his sword with the apple slices so everyone could take one. He sheathed the unused sword and took one of the apple slices for Simba since he could not do it himself. The great beast started whining that the apple wasn't cooked how Lee usually does with all his meals, but he ate the apple anyways.
