The great lakes of the Earth Kingdom were somewhat of a major attraction. They sat in the center of the continent, majestic. Two large bodies of water that were home to vast amounts of wildlife, and relied on by many organisms for life. Malina sat at the water's edge, watching from a safe distance as large animals dipped their heads into the water on the other side of the lake and drank from the cool, flowing source.
Eventually, it became too much for the water bender. Having her toes alone submersed just wasn't enough - she wouldn't be satisfied until her entire self was floating in it. So she pushed off from the bank and waded into the chill blue.
Once she was waist-deep in water, Malina pushed off and dived into water, propelling herself further and swimming completely underwater. Her eyes stayed open, staring at the beautiful large koi fish that populated the lake she was currently visiting. The young woman headed up to the surface for air, swinging her hair in the water as she breached. Out here in the middle of the water she felt at peace.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" A tunnel of a ghastly wind, secured the young girl tightly, propelling her forward in order to deduce any sort of friction on her own two feet. Her travels although pleasent, have dealt a great deal to her physically; causing a tremedous amount of body ache's throughout her frame. The great lakes were rumored to have stationed a sense of peace all across its land and despite a troubled mind, MingYu would appreciate its essence. Tranquility in the right form would clear all clouded judgement and that alone was all the airbender desired.
Sounds of birds chirping an angelic harmonization mixing in with the calm waves hitting against the shoreline would submerge the Air Nomad in a place where negativety did not exist. Arriving at the great lake, Mingyu eagerly kicked off her shoes and dipped her toes into the relaxing, cool tides. Laifu, her flying lemur seemed to have the same mindset as he too roughly anticipated the fresh stream that just begged to be tampered with. Overwrought due to his excitement, the lemur dove head first into the water, immersing every ounce of his fragile body. Soft tricklets of cold water jumped out at MingYu, causing her to giggle silent to herself as the droplets nipped at her insipid skin. It was at this time that the girl decided to play a tune of her own to add to the already peaceful environment. Pulling out a small harmonic, the girl raised it to her mouth and began to blow into it.

Malina floated on her back in the water, probably looking like a bizarre piece of flotsam to the negligent eye. This worked well for her because she didn't want to be seen. Some time away from the world spent with Mother Earth was just wanted the South Pole's native daughter needed. She could even hear the wind play her a tune; sweet, mellifluous notes chimed through the air as nature hummed to Malina.
It's so beautiful, she thought, opening her eyes and shifting in the blue stuff. After her initial infatuation with the melody she heard, Malina realized that such sounds weren't natural and that it meant she was no longer the sole soul visiting the great lakes.
Slowly, Malina swam toward the young girl she saw sitting on the water's edge. She looked to be about the age of Malina's own Adira, though because of her dress she couldn't discern where her origin lie. If she was a friendly, Malina would enjoy speaking with her. If she was a hostile ... at least Malina was surrounded by water, and would most definitely not be left defenseless.
If all went as hoped for, then the girl would notice Malina coming toward her but remain seated. Slightly startled, she might cease her harmonica playing, but Malina would quickly say, "No. Continue." Reaching onto her own waist belt, Malina retrieved a small wooden flute that she was skilled at playing. Softly she brought it to her mouth and pressed against it. Her first blow drew forth a sibilant noise, but with the proper finger adjustments she was now playing alongside the stranger's own instrument. Allowing the younger girl to lead, the flute player only served to complement her tune and create beautiful music with her.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" The sounds of the symphonious instrument drowned out all other natural resonance, adding a sweeter more dulcet tone to the serene setting. Positioning her harmonica in a back and forward motion, Mingyu continued to share her breath into the mechanism as the notes almost live in their tune wandered around the great lakes.
A set of ears, perked into the air; alert lining every suspicion in its petite and fragile build. A small lemur, dove towards his owner holding a protective hand infront of her. He stared into the distance, analyzing all that could potentially hold a threat. A small almost unnoticeable twitch accompanied his ears as an unnatural motion of the water utilizied along them. Apprehensive to the strange girl coming closer to where they resided, he remained still, patiently anticipating whatever pretenses that could be itching up her devious sleeve.
Throughout the entire time that Laifu held a steady guard over her, Mingyu's attentiveness stood where her mind did, at peace. With every angelic melody, the girl fell deeper into tranqulity, completely oblivious to the world around her. It was only when another resonant, similiar to her's came about that she came into the realization, that she was not alone. Almond shaped eyes unlatched, revealed two beautiful auburn iris's that stared intently at the woman before her. A shadowed hand was firmly placed on tense shoulders, easing all doubt that traspired due to the water bender's arrival. The noise of her own melody was quite pleasent and flowed almost perfectly with her own.
A sweet smiled escaped a set of plumped lips as she now felt a warm sense of comfortability. Still sitting on the edge of the lake, submerging her feet into the chilly water, Mingyu continued to play along side her this strange yet majestic woman. Two hearts gathering together as one mind to play a deliciously soothing meal. It was heaven.

The song continued for another minute. Animals from all over found themselves pausing in their tracks, listening to the sound; none were spooked by the presence of humans, but all were entranced by the rhythm.
Once the song had finished, Malina stored away her wooden flute. She smiled at the young girl before her, happy to find someone else with such a romantic rustic mindset. "Hello," she said softly, "you are very talented."

"I can't even find, the perfect brush so I can paint whats going through my mind" With one last heave blowing willingly into the instrument; the alleviating rhythm lasted only for a mere few seconds before it came to a halt. Mingyu withdrew her metallic harmonica away from her face and carefully placed it in a nearby pocket. Showing off a pair of pearly whites, Mingyu lowered the upper half of her body to submit a graceful bow. "It was such a pleasure to play with you!" She exclaimed joyously.
She reconfirmed her postion, straightening her posture in order to face her new found comrade. "Talented? No, no I'm alright! It was you who stole the show, you play so well. I am so grateful to have been able to hear such wonderful sounds." Cheerful in every aspect, the girl extended her hand with an open palm. "I never introduced myself. My name is MingYu." As the last word squeezed its way out, Laifu quickly jumped towards his tamer, landing almost silently on her shoulder. His face brushed against her cheek, tickling her with his soft whiskers. A soft chortle arose from her mouth. "How rude am i? This is my lemur, Laifu. He likes to be introduced as well."

Malina really did enjoy the humility exhibited by young MingYu. Her modesty was becoming. "Your talent," she started, "would be considerable for anyone's age. But to see it in someone so young is especially remarkable." Of course, the age difference was something to be accounted for. Malina's head dipped into a low bow as the younger female praised her playing. "Thank you."
Accepting the musician's hand in her own, Malina was inclined to introduce next. "My name is Malina," she said, then releasing her grip of the girl's soft hands. Soon she was gripping a furry padded paw and introducing herself to the small flying lemur. "It's nice to meet you too, Laifu."
After having met her two new acquaintances, Malina was left with a few questions. This girl was here all by herself, a nice distance away from any civilization as far Malina knew. "I have a daughter near your age," she began. "Are your parents nearby?"

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" The young woman complimented Mingyu's own talent, praising her for her age and her abilities to entertain an instrument as delicate as the harmonica. It was greatly appreciated but not all credit was left for the girl to uphold; majority of it was rightfully credited towards her mother and Mingyu made note of it. "My mother was a big help to this. She bought me this harmonica when I was really young. She loved music." Sorrow almost instantenously replaced all other sentiments alternatively from the mention of her mother's name.
Bark hues exerted an expression of saddness, diverging away from the water bender and onto the floor where she silently kicked mere specks off the ground. Water hid in the corner of her eyes, desperately trying to resist the invisible grip that held them tight. "I don't have parents. My mother died when I was ten and my father hasn't been around since I was a baby." She bit her lip in attempt to seize all emotions.

It had warmed Malina's heart to hear that MingYu's mother was attributed with delivering the gift of music into the young child's life. Her heart then dropped in the next instance as the youngster revealed her mother was no longer living, and that her father was nowhere to be found. She had obviously asked a question that entailed much more than she was prepared for.
"I'm very saddened to hear such news." Her woman's intuition was enough to figure out that an extremely sensitive nerve had been tapped - probably hard, too. MingYu looked down, and Malina feared she might cry. Perhaps this would be an opportune time to share a story. Anything at this point to prevent sobbing would be tried.
She grabbed onto the girl's hands with her own, pulling them up to chest level. "Let me share this with you, MingYu. I believe that it can be applied to your situation, in a way." Birds chirped in a nearby trees, gathering around to listen to the story too. "I want you to consider one of nature's finest creations: the toucan puffin. These beautiful birds have a background that isn't too different from your own, I believe." Malina reached out and raised MingYu's head gently by tilting her chin upward. "They grow up never knowing a father, and are pushed out of the nest by their mother at an early age. Yet and still, they grow into beautiful citizens of the skies, flying high with the clouds and proudly showing off their vibrant colors." The birds in the tree chirped again, having enjoyed the tail. "I said that to say this: do not cry because of your past, when you have a lovely present live in and bright future to look forward to. I'm sure there are great things for you in store."
Malina released the girls hand, smiling. She was treating MingYu in the same way she would want any kind stranger to treat her own Adira should something happen to her or her husband. Hopefully her words had been able to alleviate the pain of MingYu's heart for now.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" The subject for MingYu was indeed a touchy one and although she painted a pretty picture of a young adolescent with absolutely no troubles, it was only a mask. Her happiness, not entirely fabricated but if she a took a moment to herself to analyze the situation, a wave of sorrow would overlapse.
The young woman decided it was best to tell a tail in hopes that it would lighten the mood a bit. In the midst of her story, the woman wrapped her hands around her own and tightened them into a comforting grip. The way she spoke, capitilized her interior motives and how she truely, even if it was only for this moment, cared. Holding no relation to the raven hair yet still treated her as if she was one her own. This action alone brung MingYu to tears, but they were not out of saddness, these tears contained hints of gratefulness. When Malina finished her tail, something had come over the poor child as she thrusted her body weight towards the water bender and hugged her tightly. Burying her face into Malina's belly, the girl began to sob and every now and then shouted out a "Thank you."
When the tears subsided, Mingyu unraveled her arms away from the woman's waist and now stood hands to her eyes, cleaning up whatever was left. "Th-thank you so much, Malina. That story was so beautiful. I am sorry that I troubled you with my selfishness. I did not mean to burden you." That was so typical of Mingyu; always apologizing for what she catergorized as selfish and arrogant when in reality she was the most sweetest, most selfless people to walk across this earth.

The tight arm wrap given by MingYu was unexpected, but pleasant. It was nice to know that if even for a moment, she was able to life someone else's spirits. "I don't think selfish describes you at all. And I'm glad that you enjoyed the story." Thanks to MingYu, Malina's disposition was suddenly lighter.
Once the hug ended, Malina looked up at the sky. She was judging the sun's position in the sky and determining the current time. "It's time for me to head back into the city and find my family. I wish you safe travels, MingYu. If you're residing in the Earth Kingdom, I suspect we'll see each other again later. Take care." The water bender spoke with a smile before beginning off in the direction from whence she came.
The day was done now. The sun had already passed its peak and would soon begin its soon. I hope she at least has a safe place to set her head at night.

"Where Fears & Lies Melt Away" Malina departed from the pronvince, venturing off to reunite with her family. Mixed emotions included happiness to have a family to return to but sorrowful because once again she remained alone. "Atleast she has a family to go home to."Words establishing sheer melancholy shrouded her whole. Apprehensive to the shift in tone, Laifu nuzzled his fur against her leg, assuring her in a wordless manner that although she did not have a proper family to attend to, he at most was her family. "We should get going too, Laifu. It's getting dark out." With a wave of her hand the wind begin to hover her in the air and push her body towards an unknown direction.
